Yacht charter Virgin Islands
The Virgin Islands are the Caribbean's easiest week. Sixty islands and cays inside a sheltered channel, line of sight navigation, short hops between anchorages and a beach bar at the end of most of them. It is where the crewed charter industry in the Caribbean grew up, and the density of good anchorages means a week never repeats itself: the Baths on Virgin Gorda, the Indians and Norman Island, White Bay on Jost Van Dyke, Anegada's lobster and its reef.
Every rate on this page is the rate we hold. We publish weekly rates for the crewed yachts that cruise the Virgin Islands from €70,000 per week plus expenses. If a yacht is not listed here we can usually still get it: message us with the dates and we come back with what is free.
Most weeks board in Tortola on the British side or in St Thomas on the US side, where the airlift is best. The two are a short sail apart and many itineraries use both, with a clearance stop in between. Cruising permits and per person fees apply on the British side and are shown on the quote.

Where you actually go
Granite boulders the size of houses, grottoes you swim through, and the North Sound behind them with Bitter End and Saba Rock. The single most photographed anchorage in the Caribbean, best early in the morning before the day boats arrive.
White Bay, the Soggy Dollar, the Painkiller. Small island, big reputation, and a proper anchorage at Great Harbour for the night. An easy sail from Tortola's west end.
The snorkel stop. The caves at Norman, the pinnacles of the Indians, and the Willy T floating bar in the Bight. Usually the first night out of Tortola.
Two thirds national park, with Trunk Bay, Maho and Francis Bay among the best beaches in the Caribbean. St Thomas next door has the airport, the marinas and the provisioning. A week that starts in the BVI often ends here.
Crewed weeks: 3 yachts cruising Virgin Islands
These are full week charters on the yacht's own charter terms, contracted with the yacht's own management. Virgin Islands is one stop in a wider season for most of them, Caribbean in winter and Florida or New England in summer, so a week can start here and finish somewhere else entirely. Virgin Islands charter questions
How much does a yacht charter in the Virgin Islands cost?+
Crewed weekly yachts cruising the Virgin Islands start at €70,000 per week plus expenses. Running costs are handled through an advance provisioning allowance, usually twenty five to thirty five per cent of the fee, accounted for by the captain and refunded if unspent. Every number on this page is the operator rate we hold.
Do I need a licence?+
Not for anything on this page. Every yacht listed here comes with its own professional crew: captain, chef and crew who know the islands. Bareboat sailing is a different product and is not what we offer.
When is the best time to charter in the Virgin Islands?+
December to April is the peak: trade winds, dry weather and the whole fleet in the islands. Christmas and New Year book a year ahead. May and June are quieter and often better value, with warm water and fewer boats. July to November is hurricane season and most crewed yachts leave for the summer.
BVI or USVI: where should we start?+
Tortola if the week is mainly British side, with Beef Island airport close to the marinas; St Thomas if you want direct US flights and no passport formalities for American guests. Most weeks can do both with a clearance stop. We shape the start around the flights you can actually get.
What fees apply in the Virgin Islands?+
On the British side a cruising permit and per person charter fees apply and are itemised in the quote. National park moorings carry a nightly fee. On the US side the structure differs. Nothing is hidden inside the rate; the quote shows the all in figure before you commit.
Can the Virgin Islands be combined with St Barths or Antigua?+
On the larger crewed yachts, yes, as a longer itinerary or a one way with repositioning built in. St Martin and St Barths are an overnight passage east; Antigua further again. Tell us the dates and the group and we lay out honest options with published rates.
