Yacht charter Miami

HomeFleet › Yacht charter Miami

Miami is the easiest serious yacht day in the United States. You board in Miami Beach, on the Miami River or at one of the Coconut Grove marinas, and inside twenty minutes you are on Biscayne Bay with the skyline behind you and flat, shallow, pool coloured water ahead. The bay is sheltered enough that a day on it works in almost any weather, and the ocean is right there through Government Cut when you want speed and swell.

Every rate on this page is the rate we hold. We publish day charter prices for the Miami boats we work with, from €1,180 a day for a crewed sportboat up to €21,849 for the largest motor yachts, and weekly rates for the crewed yachts that use Miami as a base for the Bahamas. If a boat is not listed here we can usually still get it: message us with the dates and we come back with what is free.

Most Miami charters are structured the American way, as a bareboat hire with a professional crew arranged alongside it, and Florida sales tax applies to the hire. Fuel is quoted per trip on the faster boats. Ask for the all in number and you get the all in number, same day in season.

Where you actually go

Biscayne Bay and the sandbars

Where a Miami day actually happens. Haulover sandbar and Nixon sandbar on a weekend are a floating party; the southern bay past Key Biscayne is the quiet version, with Stiltsville and the Cape Florida lighthouse on the way. Ask for the quiet version if you have children aboard.

Star Island and the skyline run

The classic first hour. Out past Star, Palm and Hibiscus Islands, along Fisher Island and the cruise port, with downtown and Brickell across the water. Best at golden hour on the way back in.

Key Biscayne and Elliott Key

South of the causeway the water cleans up fast. Elliott Key is Biscayne National Park, a proper anchorage with nobody around, roughly an hour south on a quick boat. Worth it for a full day rather than a four hour run.

Bimini and the Bahamas crossing

Bimini is about fifty miles east across the Gulf Stream, two to three hours on a fast boat. It needs a boat set up for the crossing and clearance on arrival, so it is an early start and a long day, or better, an overnight. Tell us and we pick a boat that does this regularly.

Crewed weeks: 2 yachts cruising Miami

These are full week charters on the yacht's own charter terms, contracted with the yacht's own management. Miami is one stop in a wider season for most of them, Caribbean in winter and Florida or New England in summer, so a week can start here and finish somewhere else entirely. Miami charter questions

How much does a yacht charter in Miami cost?+

Day charters in our Miami fleet run from €1,180 to €21,849 for the boat, crewed, for the day. The price depends on the size of the boat and the length of the day, with four, six and eight hour options on most of them. Crewed weekly yachts that base in Miami for the Bahamas start at a published rate per week plus expenses. Every number on this page is the operator rate we hold, and the quote spells out tax, fuel and gratuity before you commit.

Do I need a licence to charter in Miami?+

Not for anything on this page. Every boat listed here comes with its own professional captain and crew, so you turn up, board and the captain runs the day. Bareboat charter without crew is a different product and is not what we offer.

When is the best time to charter in Miami?+

Miami is a year round charter city. November to April is the peak season with dry, warm days and the calmest water; it is also when the boats are busiest and Art Basel, Ultra and the boat show weeks sell out early. Summer is hotter with afternoon storms that usually pass in an hour, and rates on some boats soften. June to November is hurricane season, which matters for weekly planning more than for a day on the bay.

How long is a charter day, and how many guests can we bring?+

Most Miami boats offer four, six or eight hour charters and a sunset run. In US waters the large majority of charter yachts carry up to twelve guests regardless of age; a handful of inspected vessels take more, and we will tell you which when the group is bigger. Children count as guests.

What is included in the price, and what is extra?+

The rate covers the yacht and crew for the agreed hours. Fuel is either inside the rate or quoted per trip, and the listing says which. Florida sales tax applies to the hire. Food and drink you can bring yourself on most boats or have catered through us, and crew gratuity is customary at fifteen to twenty per cent. The quote shows all of it before you pay anything.

Can you charter a yacht in Miami for a birthday or a company event?+

Yes, and it is a large share of what we book here. Birthdays, bachelorette weekends, product launches, a client day during the boat show. Tell us the number of guests, whether you want the boat moving or anchored at the sandbar, and what you want to eat and drink, and we build it with the captain.
