Yacht charter Fort Lauderdale

HomeFleet › Yacht charter Fort Lauderdale

Fort Lauderdale calls itself the yachting capital of the world and for once the slogan is accurate: more large yachts base, refit and winter here than anywhere else in the country. For a charter guest that means depth. The marinas along the Intracoastal and the New River hold everything from open sportboats to proper motor yachts, and the crews who run them do this every day of the year.

Every rate on this page is the rate we hold. We publish day charter prices for the Fort Lauderdale boats we work with, from €4,370 a day up to €5,244 for the largest, and weekly rates for the crewed yachts that leave from here for the Bahamas. If a boat is not listed here we can usually still get it: message us with the dates and we come back with what is free.

The day itself is a choice between two waters. The Intracoastal is calm, lined with the houses of Las Olas Isles and busy with boats on a weekend; the ocean through Port Everglades is open Atlantic, good for a fast run south toward Miami or a swim off the beach. Most captains do a bit of both.

Where you actually go

The Intracoastal and Las Olas Isles

The slow cruise everyone wants on a first charter: the mansion lined canals off Las Olas, under the bridges, past the megayachts at Pier 66 and Bahia Mar. Calm water, no swell, a drink in hand.

The sandbar and Whiskey Creek

The local anchorage for a swim stop, just inside the inlet near Dania Beach. Shallow, sandy, busy on a Sunday, and an easy place to drop the toys for an hour.

The ocean and the beach run

Out through Port Everglades and along Fort Lauderdale Beach, Pompano and Hillsboro Inlet to the north, or south toward Haulover and Miami. The Atlantic is usually gentle here in the morning and builds in the afternoon.

The Bahamas from Fort Lauderdale

Bimini is roughly fifty miles, Grand Bahama and West End a little further, and the Abacos and Nassau are an overnight on a proper yacht. Fort Lauderdale is the natural jumping off point for a crewed week: the yacht clears out here and you are in Bahamian water by lunch.

Crewed weeks in Fort Lauderdale

For a crewed week we position yachts from the wider fleet or route the itinerary through Fort Lauderdale. Message us the dates and the group and we lay out the honest options with published rates.

Fort Lauderdale charter questions

How much does a yacht charter in Fort Lauderdale cost?+

Day charters in our Fort Lauderdale fleet run from €4,370 to €5,244 for the boat, crewed, for the day, depending on size and the number of hours. Crewed weekly yachts leaving from Fort Lauderdale for the Bahamas start at a published rate per week plus expenses. Every number on this page is the operator rate we hold, and the quote spells out tax, fuel and gratuity before you commit.

Do I need a licence to charter in Fort Lauderdale?+

Not for anything on this page. Every boat listed here comes with its own professional captain and crew. You board, the captain runs the day, and you do not touch a control unless you ask to.

When is the best time to charter in Fort Lauderdale?+

The season runs from the boat show at the end of October through April: dry, warm, calm water, and the largest fleet in town. Summer is hot with afternoon storms and a softer market on some boats. For a Bahamas week, December to May is the window; June to November is hurricane season and we plan around it.

How long is a charter day here?+

Four, six and eight hour charters are standard, and most boats will run a sunset cruise. Longer days are fine for the Bahamas runs, which start early. In US waters most charter yachts carry up to twelve guests; a few inspected vessels take more, and we will say which if your group is larger.

What does the price include?+

The yacht and crew for the agreed hours. Fuel is inside the rate or quoted per trip, and the listing says which. Florida sales tax applies to the hire. Catering can be brought aboard or arranged through us, and a fifteen to twenty per cent crew gratuity is customary. The quote shows the all in figure before you pay anything.

Can we start a Bahamas week in Fort Lauderdale and end it in Nassau?+

Yes, on the crewed weekly yachts that is a normal itinerary, and one way charters are priced with the repositioning built in. Tell us the dates and the group and we lay out the options with published rates.
